Little Scholars Preschool’s proven curriculum is carefully designed to prepare your child socially and academically for kindergarten by giving her a head start in school and in life. The curriculum is best known for teaching your child to read by the time she enters kindergarten by combining a unique blend of whole language and phonics. By blending both whole language and phonics along with a variate of visual, kinesthetic, and auditor teaching techniques Little Scholars’ curriculum appeals to children of all different learning styles and helps them learn at their own pace in their own way.

Each week, your child will be introduced to a new letter and sound through music and a corresponding character that will captive your child’s attention and help her retain the letter and the letter’s phonetic pronunciations through the use of colorful stories, art and music. By the time your child completes her 4-year-old year, she will have learned over 50 sight words, her alphabet, be able to count from 1 to 20, recite her colors, shapes, write her own name, mastered the basic phonemes and be well on her way to blending.

Parents are expected to participate in their child’s development and play an important role in developing a life long love of learning by motivating their child through proper reading techniques and positive reinforcement. To help cultivate a positive learning environment at home, Little Scholars’ offers a take home reading library with age appropriate, leveled readers using popular children’s characters that is carefully sequenced with the classroom curriculum. Introducing the right books, in the right sequence will help your child experience success reading early and often. Building a proper foundation for reading along with good learning habits will take time and effort at first but will bless your child many times over through out her life.

Little Scholars also has a phenomenal art program to help develop your child’s creativity and fine motor skills. Each day your child will bring home a drawing, paint project, or creation done by them. It’s amazing to see how your child’s artistic abilities develop over the course of the year and creates a treasured keepsake for many years to come.

Little Scholars provides workbooks for our 4-year-old students and worksheets for our 3-year-old students. Three pages per day are done – 1 for phonics, 1 for math, and 1 for critical thinking. Along with learning cognitive reasoning, creative thinking, and reading skills. Your child will also be learning more fundamental yet equally important classroom management skills including how to sit still, pay attention during class, raise their hand to ask questions, follow directions, and be kind to others.

In addition, Little Scholars strives to create a fun and creative learning atmosphere full of opportunities for social interaction with other child in the same age group. Each month we will have holiday celebration or an optional field trip for “Mom ‘n me” to create friendships and memories that will last well into her grade school years.

Please come in to take a tour and see for yourself how Little Scholars can benefit you and your child. We look forward to meeting you and your child soon!
